I admit it: I’m not showing this one because I think it’s a great photo. I’m showing it because it’s an illustration of what panic does to people. On Friday gas prices in my area and in other parts of the state shot to $5 and higher due to the impending apocalypse aka Hurricane Ike. This morning one station still had regular unleaded for $4.99; the next highest place in the immediate area was only $4.09. In fact, the station right across the street from this one was already down to $3.99. Luckily, by 6pm today it had gone down to an amazing $4.49 per gallon.

I’ve been a little preoccupied with things other than photography and while I said I would try to post a picture a day I also said I wouldn’t force myself. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some pictures this weekend since we’re going out of town. On to the picture. I was logging in to my online banking this evening and saw this. I’m using Firefox 3, by the way. I thought surely they’re kidding but I guess not. If Print Screen didn’t exist I would have taken a picture of it!

“Why yes, I would love to rent this lovely tree. How much is it?” That’s what I feel like saying every time I pass this tree. To be fair, I think it’s really referring to some apartments that are nearby, but I still find it rather humorous.
